FAQ: MagManager is running slow

Question:

MagManager is running slow today, is there a problem?

Answer:

Usually reports of MagManager running slow are due to local issues outside of MagManager's control.  There are a number of things you can check on your device to try and resolve this:

Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Outdated JavaScript or stored data can cause significant conflicts, particularly for heavy web applications.

Test in Incognito/Private Mode: This disables all browser extensions, which are a primary source of browser sluggishness. If the site is fast here, one of your extensions is the culprit.

Disable Extensions: Specifically, check for ad blockers or security extensions that might be analysing the page in real-time.

Try a Different Browser: Test in Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Brave to rule out browser-specific issues.

Check Browser Performance Settings: Ensure your browser is not in "battery saver" mode. For example, in Chrome, set Memory Saver to "Maximum" to free up resources from other tabs.

Restart Your Device: This closes background processes that may be hogging RAM.

Switch Connections: If on Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired Ethernet connection to eliminate signal degradation.

Check Local Bandwidth: Run a speed test (e.g., fast.com) to confirm your download speeds are adequate.

Check Local Network Usage: Ensure other devices on your home network are not consuming too much bandwidth with streaming or downloads.
